The Callan Method is a "Direct Method" for learning English.This means that the student does not think in his/her own language before speaking in English but learns to think and speak directly in the new language. Just as the best way to learn to play the piano is to play it, so the best way to learn a language is to speak it.
In each lesson you learn English in the following way; 1. The teacher asks a question, quickly. The teacher speaks very quickly, like a native speaker. The teacher asks the question twice so that you have another chance to understand. 2. The student answers the question. 3. The teacher help the student answer the question and corrects pronunciation, grammar and any other mistakes.

Revision sessions are slightly different, in that there is no new work in the second hour and no dictations. These occur before an exam. Exams take place at the end of each stage. If you fail an exam the teacher may make you repeat a stage. Don't worry; most people pass the exams!
