Accommodation and transport terms

Accommodation Conditions

  1. Finding Fee

    1. An accommodation finding fee of £50 applies for each search and is non-refundable.

  2. Booking period

    1. Normally a minimum of 1 weeks notice is needed in order to arrange appropriate accommodation. For accommodation with special food (eg. Hallal, Kosher or Vegetarian) a minimum of 2 weeks is needed.

    2. The school can take bookings for accommodation with less than 1 or 2 weeks, but we cannot guarantee to find accommodation as a result.

    3. If accommodation with special food is requested and the school cannot find an appropriate host after 1 week then we will tell the student at least 1 week before they are due to arrive.

    4. A booking is confirmed ONLY when full payment is received by A2Z School of English.

  3. Cancelation and change of start date

    1. In the event that you cancel your accommodation before you come to the UK, you must give at least two weeks notice in writing, before the start date of your accommodation booking. This can be done by fax, email or post.

    2. If we do not receive at least two weeks notice in writing from you, the first two weeks accommodation fees are not refundable.

    3. If a student wants to change the starting date of their accommodation, at least two weeks’ notice in writing must be given to the school.

  4. Preferences

    1. We cannot guarantee that the selection available will suit student’s needs exactly in terms of location or other preferences etc.

    2. If you are unhappy with your accommodation, when you first arrive please do not worry. It is usually possible to arrange something else for you. We suggest that you stay in your accommodation until you can speak to the A2Z welfare officer on the next working day.

  5. Relationship with families

    1. Host families with whom students are placed are not necessarily British, however, English is the language spoken in the home.

    2. Students are liable for any damage they cause to the host family's property.

    3. Students are expected to respect and abide by the host family's reasonable schedule and house rules. Failure to do so may result in the student being removed from the accommodation.

    4. If a student is removed from his/her homestay accommodation as a result of bad behaviour no refund will be given.

  6. General conditions

    1. Students must always ask the host family’s permission before giving the homestay address to receive post, in particular for bank letters.

    2. You may not bring visitors back to your home without the consent of the host.

    3. You may not smoke in the house without the consent of your host.

    4. The cost of the telephone is not included in your accommodation fee.

    5. Students are expected to respect and abide by the host family’s reasonable schedule and house rules. Failure to do so may result in the student being removed from the accommodation. If a student is removed from home-stay accommodation no refund will be given.

    6. Home-stay accommodation is not the same as hotel accommodation and therefore does not offer the same services.

    7. Those who do not request airport pickup will need to inform the School of their arrival time at the home-stay.

    8. Students will not be placed in home-stay accommodation with other students who speak the same language unless travelling together and by request.

    9. Twin rooms are only available to students who are travelling together.

    10. It is sometimes possible to extend your home-stay or find alternative accommodation if requests are put in early but this cannot be guaranteed.

    11. A2Z School accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any items left in the accommodation.

    12. Accommodation services will only be provided for students who have enrolled on a course at the School.

Airport meeting conditions

  1. You must provide accurate arrival information including the following:

    1. Date

    2. Arrival time

    3. Airport you are arriving at

    4. Airport you are coming from

    5. Airline,

    6. Terminal number,

    7. Flight number.

  2. It is the student's responsibility to inform the School of accurate arrival details. If incorrect details are supplied, A2Z School of English will not refund charges should the student not be met. 

  3. The A2Z School normally only arranges transport from Manchester airport. Exceptionally we may be able to arrange transport from other airports. Please note, however, that Heathrow airport is a long way from Manchester, and it is usually impossible to arrange transport from London.
