Daniela - A day in my Life

That is something I wouldn’t do in Chile.

A normal weekday for me begins at 6:30 am. I get up and get ready for school, have my breakfast

and prepare a snack to take with me for our breaks. By 7:15 I leave home and walk about 10 minutes to the train station. Now that is something I wouldn’t do in Chile. Trains are not a big part of public transport there, so I quite enjoy using the trains.

It takes me about 30 minutes to get to Manchester, so I use that time to read.  Once in Manchester I always get the Metro newspaper to read and do the crosswords during our breaks at school, then I walk for about

10 to 15 minutes to A2Z, I’m usually the first one to arrive to class, about half an hour earlier, so many of my classmates think I live there.

After class I take the train back home, I get back around 2pm. I turn the radio on, have a coffee, get a snack, wait for my boyfriend to get back from work and usually, if it’s not raining heavily, I take Meg (my dog) out to the park for a walk.

In the afternoon I leave time for my homework and to study for a dental exam I’m planning to take this year, so there is plenty of studying for me.  Then it’s “tea time” cooked by my boyfriend most of the times. Now this is another thing we don’t do back in my country. Our big meal is around noon, and just a light meal at night. So I’ve had to get used to the different hours.

After I’ve had my tea, I have to admit that I watch soaps every now and then. At the end of my day, I call back home and just give my family an update on my life back here in England, I try not to call them that often but sometimes it’s just impossible not to call and tell them that it’s snowing!!  Then I check my emails and go to bed around 11pm.
