Cambridge Examinations

Cambridge University has a collection of 5 exams that assess general English.

These exams are;

  1. KET / Key English Test - Low Level
  2. PET / Preliminary English Test- Intermediate
  3. FCE / First Certificate in English - Upper Intermediate
  4. CAE / Cambridge Advanced Examination - Advanced
  5. CPE / Cambridge Proficiency in English - The highest level possible

At the A2Z School you can we prepare students for the last three examinations, as these are the most useful and desired.

Our students study with us until they are ready to take the exam, after which they go to a central examination centre to take the test with students from all the other schools.

FCE is the most popular, so we have many FCE classes.

We don't have many classes which teach CAE, because fewer people want to study at this high level. We do not have a CPE (Cambridge proficiency) class, although students have been prepared for this exam as part of our CAE class and passed with flying colours!

Out students have taken and passed all three examinations either while or after studying at A2Z School of English.

Dates

The Cambridge ESOL exams can be taken as either a computer based or paper based test. The date of the exam depends on the type of exam. Here is a calendar showing the official dates and the dates when the exam can be taken in Manchester;
