Refunds

A2Z Refund policy including Visa rejections

If you pay for a course at A2Z School of English we will not normally refund any of the money under any circumstances.

There are two exceptions to this;

  1. When a student has applied for a visa but has not obtained one, ie when their application has been rejected.

  2. When the student's personal circumstances mean that a refund of course fees is appropriate, for example, if someone in a student's family dies and they want to return home early for the funeral. However, refunds of this kind are at the complete discretion of the management of the A2Z School and may be refused for any reason. In addition we may ask to see certain documents to prove the truth of any claims (A death certificate, for example).

How to claim a refund

To request a refund please;

  1. Complete our online refund form
  2. Email scans of any documents you wish to submit to refunds@a2z-english.com.
  3. If we request original documents to be returned you should post these to the school or give them to a receptionist by hand.

Agency bookings

If you have booked a course at A2Z through an agent you must first contact the agent. The agent will then contact A2Z to inform them whether or not you should receive a refund. This rule applies even if you are in England and studying at the school.

General details

Please note;

  • Refunds can normally ONLY be made to the person who originally paid and can ONLY be made by cheque or bank  transfer.
  • Bank transfers to non UK bank accounts can be expensive and all bank charges must be paid by the person being refunded.
  • A2Z School cannot be held responsible for any financial loss as the result of international currency fluctuations and all transactions will be done on the basis of UK pounds Sterling.
  • In addition refunds can only be issued when the school has all the documents required, and bank transfers can take a long time to be processed. For this reason it may take a long time for your money to be refunded.
  • The school cannot be held responsible for any funds lost as the result of bad information supplied by the student.
  • Students who apply through an agency must ask the agency for a refund, the school will not normally involve itself in transactions of this kind.
  • Refunds may take up to 90 days to process from receipt of all necessary documents.
  • Refunds are not available for up to 1 year after a student has paid for a course.

Visa rejection refund conditions

If you are applying for a refund because your visa has been rejected you must

  1. Send us a copy of the rejection documents you have received from the British Government, including every page of the rejection documents. You can send these by emall (As scanned images to refunds@a2z-english.com ) or you can also post them, fax them or submit them to the school reception.
  2. You may also be asked to return any documentation the school has given you, including any letters and invoices. We may ask for the original documents as part of the conditions of the refund.
  3. If your visa has been rejected we will refund any fees paid minus any enrolment fees and an extra fee of  £125. So, for example, if you pay enrolment fees of £75 and a course fee of £1000, we will refund only £875.
  4. if you used deception or were judged to use deception by an immigration officer or consulate employee we will give you no refund. We do this to discourage bogus students from trying to use our school as a means of illegal entry to the UK.
