Here are some basic facts about the exam

ABOUT THE TOEIC

  • The TOEIC® test is the most widely used English language test for professional English.

  • The TOEIC® test is used as a certification tool in more than 5000 companies worldwide.

  • Use the TOEIC® test to certify your English skills and enhance your employment profile.

  • The reading and listening test lasts 2 hours and consists of a reading section and a listening section.

  • The speaking and writing test lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes

  • The speaking only test lasts 20 minutes

  • The test takes place at A2Z School of English

  • The TOEIC test was created and is administered by the American company ETS

  • You can find out more about the test on the ETS webpage 

  • You receive your test result about 4 days after you take the test

  • Your certificate is valid for 2 years

  • The test is multiple choice and you must use a wooden pencil! 

  • The maximum score is 990

  • About 4.5 million people take the test each year!

  • It is very popular in Japan, Korea and French speaking countries, but it is taken in countries all over the world. 

There is a lower level version of the TOEIC exam called "TOEIC Bridge". 

TOEIC BRIDGE

  • The TOEIC Bridge is a lower level of the TOEIC exam, which you can also take at the A2Z School of English.

  • It is perfect for students who want to show that their English has improved from basic to intermediate level.

  • Students who want to change from a Student Visitor Visa to a General Student Visa may be able to show that their English is good enough to return to the UK on a General Student Visa

  • The test takes about one hour

  • There are two sections, listening (about 25 minutes) and reading (about 35 minutes).
